PEOPLE’S FRIEND is a kitchen sink drama; a bitter love letter - signed, sealed and delivered in just under 3 minutes.
The scenario: you meet a girl. She’s utterly amazing and more than capable of blowing your mind each and every day. You feel lucky to have her in your life and you’ve never been happier. You adore every quirky detail of this girl and your lives together… 
And then she leaves you for somebody else and those overwhelming feelings of sickness and devastation hit you hard. 

In a nutshell, that’s what People’s Friend by The Magic Eye Pictures is all about, and the song is delivered with their usual Technicolor chaotic power-pop charm. It’s upbeat, infectious and possibly even bizarrely joyous. Lead singer Alex Kershaw explains where his inspiration came from:

‘I wrote ‘People’s Friend’ after a break-up. It’s about the little things you do together in a relationship that come to haunt you after it’s over – for me it was reading the magazine ‘The People’s Friend’. The song attempts to show the pain and embarrassment of holding onto these little things once your lover has moved on.’


Further to the digital release on 8th November, PEOPLE’S FRIEND will also feature on the coloured vinyl 12” LEARN FEAR EP-01 alongside other Leeds and Bradford artists LELO, Niall Summerton and
E X P E R I M E N T 6 3 7. The EP is released on Friday 22nd November and is available for pre-order here: learnfear.tmstor.es/cart/product.php?id=55137

The Magic Eye Pictures are also performing at the special LEARN FEAR EP-01 launch party at Leeds Brudenell Social Club on Saturday 23rd November. Tickets are available now.
